Public Hearings for the 2020 Street Improvement projects on County Road D and Greenbrier Street were held on January 24, 2019. At those hearings, the City Council voted to proceed with the preparation of plans and specifications for both projects but to hold off on bidding the projects until late-2019 or early-2020.  Work will now begin on both streets in spring/summer 2020.  Assessment rates will be held at the 2019 rates provided both projects are completed in 2020.

The Public Hearing for Allen Avenue was held on January 8, 2020.  The City Council voted to proceed with the rehabilitation of Allen Avenue including the removal of the islands at Centerville Road and Desoto Street and the addition of a sidewalk on the south side of Allen from Centerville Road to Desoto Street.

The City Council authorized the improvement of the streetscape along Little Canada Road from Rice Street to the railroad tracks.  Work will include pouring a concrete sidewalk to replace the paver sidewalk, resetting the pavers from the back of the curb to the sidewalk to make everything level again, increasing the size of the planting beds located between the street and the sidewalk, planting new salt-tolerant materials in the planting beds, minor storm sewer catch basin work in the street, and running conduit for potential future electrical wiring to put lights on the trees.  The work will begin in the spring and must be completed before July 30.
